HUGS is able to provide programs and services free of charge – to the families we serve – thanks to the support of our generous donors.

How to become a HUGS Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeline of HUGS.  It is through their tireless dedication that HUGS is able to continue serving Hawaii’s seriously ill children and their families.  Volunteer opportunities include:

Family Programs

Respite Childcare, Family Dinner Programs, SibCamp and Hospital Visitations – Interact with and provide care and support to HUGS children and their families.

Office Support

Assist HUGS staff with computer data entry, phone calls, mailings, and office maintenance.

Special Events

Assist with specially planned community outreach and fundraising events. If you would like to become a HUGS volunteer, please complete and submit  the appropriate application forms and documents:

Adult Volunteer (18 years and older)

  • Adult Volunteer Application DOWNLOAD FORM

  • Provide medical documentation of TB clearance (negative PPD), MMR and Varicella immunizations.

Junior Volunteer (15 through 17 years old)

  • Parental Consent for the Emergency Treatment of a Minor DOWNLOAD FORM
  • Junior Volunteer Applicant Confidential Questionnaire DOWNLOAD FORM

Please submit all of the completed downloaded forms and required documents via email: volunteer@hugslove.org; fax: (808) 732-4881; or mail: HUGS   3636 Kilauea Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii  96816.
